Wirvla was almost two years old before I felt it was time letting her have kittens. She grow slowly, and in the Summer 2004 she also went sick after swallowing a braid, she managed to get rid of it, but she went tired afterwards and had to eat anthibiotics. It took time for her to recover. Christmas 2004 she was calling very strong, in almost two weeks. Next time she alled we mated her with Alvarin. First, we thought there would be no kittens, she refused to eat and vomated often. But since she was in her own room together with Pax Allis Blaah, who was expecting two weeks before Wirvla, she started to eat a lot. She could easily grow 500 grams in a week. At the end she was an enourmous stomach only, her weight raised 2,6 kg. She gave birth on day 65. She was so big then so she could not stand at all, I have to hold her for the delivery. It took some time to deliever kitten number one, but next four ones arrived quickly. I felt no difference on the size of her stomach. After some ours of rest she continued. Kitten number 6 got stuck, but I managed it, and three more were born after.I could feel some more kittens, but Wirvla was satisfied with nine. The two last boys were born at noon next day. All kittens had weight s between 85 and 105 grams. Our feeling is just-Unbelievebly. Wirvla is not a very big female, and this is her first litter. Her nest is really full of kittens, and they fight for milk day and night. Our pleasure with Wirvla beeing such a good mother is mixed with our fear that some babies will be lost. And of cours we think about the economic part of this. Feeding, registration and vaccination of altogethr 16 kittens will cost a lot of money. But we are happy to own Alvarin. No stud fee is required. But we are very proud of our enourmous litter, and they look promising too, with big ear and long heads and tails. Our greatest pride is our fantastic Wirvla, calm in this haous and still paying small visits in our bed at night. Now we need to work with all the pics (33 pics) for the homepage and learn the colour differences between the kittens. For the moment every kitten seem to have at least one twin. So far we have not been giving the kittens any extra milk, we want to stimulate the queens lactation as much as possible. Tomorrow w will start to feed the kittens who seem to have difficulties fighting for milk. |

Wirvla fights for her kittens, and so do we. Most of the kittens has risen some in weitht at least, and have round bellies. Two of the girls, PUrana Quila and Palamcotta has difficulties to handle all the sieblings, so they recieve a lot of extra milk. Approximately half of the litter get some extra milk, but have most of their food from Wirvla. We have tried to give the smallest girls to Allis, and she accepts them, but they have difficulties in competing with the giant O-kittens, three weeks on Sunday. Hopefully O-kittens soon will accept other food, and then Allis will be a resource for the P-litter. We are still a bit surprised, but we want to enjoy, since this probably only happens once in our breerer life that we get such an enourmous litter. Our Easter celebration has been cancelled, and our kids are very happy since they can watch as many films as they want when we nurse the kittens. This is the first time that we have great problems separating the kittens from each other. Same sex, same weight, colour and pattern. We have taken detail pictures of each kittens pattern that hopefully will help. Thank you very much for all greetings in our Guestbook and on mail. |

The kittens feel fine and grow, still rather slow, but they are all growing. Unfortunately Wirvla went sick this morning with fever and had to go to the Animal Hospital for a check. Big Thanks to Gitte who helped us with the transport. Allis had to take care of all 16 kittens, something she did with great joy. When Wirvla arrived to the Animal Hospital the fever was gone, and the vet thought she was very healthy after this deliery of eleven just three days ago. Some anthibiotics, just for sure, and fluid was all she needed. She is now back, and Allis and Wirvla stays together now with all kittens. Everybody looks satisfied for the moment. |

We are very grateful that both Allis and Wirvla had kittens at the same time. Now, mothers and
kittens live as a huge family, and there is always some milk available for the hungry P-kittens.
Today all kittens have gained 10-15 grams of weight in 24 hours. We have not given any additative
milk today, even the two small girls manage by their own. Allis is a very proud queen in the middle of a sea of kittens. She quits as breeding female with this gorgerious help given to Wirvla. Allis will become 7 years in December 2005, and she really deserves to retire. I can sit for hours just watching the kittens, how they move, fall asleep, wake up again and take a fight to reach some milk. The small kittens use the big ones as pillows. It is a very special experience having such a big litter. Wirvla is feeling fine. She has a lot of milk and she eats a lot again. Her fever has been gone for two days now. The work of today is taking photos of alltogether 16 kittens for the homepage. |

We are now quite used to this siuation, taking 16 kittens as something completely natural. I am a
little ironical now! Both Wirvla and Allis seems to be satisfied, and all kittens grow, some more,
some less. A few ones I would like to grow more. For the moment we give no extra milk, but it is of
course depending on what happens. Without extra milk they grow slower but natural, with extra milk
they might grow faster. But the times we have tried this last days, the kittens almost refuse to
eat it. Wirvla and Allis consume enourmous amounts of food, giving us a glimse of how it will be when our cat food restaurant will have to feed 18 small and big ones with food day and night. Even worse is the thought of all litter trays that will have to be cleaned. For the moment our problems with P-litter is mainly conentrated to the silver. It hides well on most of the kittens. I have updated colours on start pages. Many of the black-and-whites are tabbies, but Palwankar Baloo and Patschouli is black and white. We have taken new pics of P-litter, hopefully you will see them tonight. |

Everything has been smooth for a while, and both Wirvlas and Allis kittens grow as calculated. So
far the P-litter of course has not taken back the weight they lost the first days, when Wirvla was
without milk. Our problems are now concerning Allis. Her kittens are five weeks old, and they want
to eat food, not plenty of milk. Allis take the opportunity to go away and have some kitten-free
time somewhere there the P-kittens can not reach her. Unfortunately she still has a lot of milk,
and her udder gets very warm and painful. Then she refuses the kittens to suckle and everything
gets worse. Now we have to sit with her and the kittens giving them opportunity to suckle, and
Allis is recovering, but she is still not very happy.
I must admit it is very hard to compare the quality of kittens when you have eight females in the
same litter. I have never been this confused before. But the P-litter over all consists of kittens
with very high quality. We have a dream to shoe the whole litter on a show in Stockholm in July.
The future will show if this will be possible to do. |

Allis has now visited the Animal Hospital and got stong anthibiotics, so she can´t feed any kittens
for a long time. Allis kittens eat food but there is no possibility for Wirvla feeding her eleven
kittens alone. So we need to feed them. Keep your fingers crossed that we manage this for two
weeks. So their will be few updates and delayed replies of mail unfortunately.

Poor Allis, poor Wirvla and poor us. Allis is better, but not recovered at all. Wirvla has too
little milk and we feed the kittens a lot. Really much work. The P-kittens are OK but they grow
slowly. They are able to look at all the food Wirvla is served, but they don´t know what to do with
it. We really look forward to see them eating by themselves. |

We keep on fighting, but we are really tired. Allis has been at the vet again, and she is still
very ill. We give her all kind of medicaments. I must say that veterinary care and medicin is quite
expensive, despite the insurance we have.
Wirvla takes care of the kittens with a lot of help from us, bottlefeeding them two or three times
daily. Wirvla is tired too, she accepts the kittens, but she is not as happy as she was in the
beginning. Some of the small P-babies has tried fish, but they sure prefer mothers milk and our
bottle. But they are still happy and healthy, just growing slow.
Something that is confusing is that all kittens in the litter are quite similar, and they are so
many ones. Today I think Pattadakal, Pappadam, Purana Quila and Palamcotta is silver, Palwankar
Baloo and Patschouli non-agouti. But this can of course change, at least the silver.

Things are getting brighter. Allis is almost OK now, and the P-babies are starting to eat by
themselves, at least some of them. We still feed the kittens morning and evening, but the main
propose of this is to help Wirvla, who really has rough work to do. Having 16 kittens is definitely
much work, I am cooking for the kittens more then for the family in these days. It is also a great
joy with the kittens. P-litter is still very similar, but we guess there will happen much in their
development the coming three weeks.
Tomorrow Alvarin and Bharat Purr will attend a catshow in Stockholm. We look forward to see the
development of Alvarins babies in the N-litter.

I did not know that my next plan in life was starting a restaurant for cats. But this was my destiny! my family now has to go to the local pizza store, while I do do cooking of fish, chicken, meat and so on. They demand food at least four times a day. For the moment Isabella is at home, so I have plenty of time, but the rest of this week I will need to go to my work too. That will be heavy! I am also happy for my salary, since this food ans cat sand costs a lot of money too.
All the P-babies, except for Palamcotta, is now eating both food and mothers milk. Wirvla is a very tired female, she gets happy when she spend some time without the kittens, and alsp while sleeping in my bed, since the kittens not yet can climb that high. It is a matter of days only. The P-babies and othe O-babies are playing a lot, and the big ones like to play with the small ones. I do think it is starting to get easier seeing the differences in type in P-litter. The problem is only that they are changing all the time! Poona has been my favourite since they were born, and she still is. But I like Pathanamthitta also a lot, and among the boys I think Baloo is most developed for the moment. We took new pics of both litters yesterday. They will appear on the homepage later this week.

I guess this is life, something totally unexpected happens, and you are not prepared at all. One day Alvarin plays with my wild daughter Isabella, and I remember thinking that Alvarin has a fantastic knowledge of handling both cats and humans, making everyone feel fine. only a few days after Alvarin is gone, and the house completely empty despite the fact that sixteen kittens are all over the house making noise. It was some awful days, from the monday when Alvarin stopped eating until the friday evening when he was put into sleep at the animal hospital in Bagarmossen. Thanks, Gitte that you went there with me. It was the right thing to do, to release him, I know that, but still it was terrible to have to take such a decision. I do think that animals has a knowledge of when the life is over, and I saw that knowledge in Alvarins eyes. He is now without pain, but I am still listening after him every day, getting surprised when the bowl with his favourite dry food is not empty everytime anymore. Alvarin left a lt of beuatiful babies here on earth, among them our P-litter. They are now growing as expected, still weight around 200 grams less than my other litters at the same age, 9 weeks. At the same time they are all quite similar in weight, the difference between biggest and smallest are around 150 grams. Maybe they have to wait until 13-14 weeks before they move, at least some of them. We will have to wait an see.
For the moment I am most fon of Pathanamthitta among the girls, I like her look and expression. Also Poona, Purina Quila and Palamcotta has nice qualities. Among the boys I have to mention Pattadakal, he is in look and behaviour almost a copy of Alvarin. Pattadakal prefers to sleep and purr when his sieblings fight around him. Should I say something less positive about him it must be the fur. It is very wooly for the moment, but it was the same with Alvarin as a kitten, and he developed later on a nice fur quality. The opposite to Pattadakal is Palamcotta, she has a super coat.

Alvarin left us, but his children remain here. The last days I have heard a lot about Alvarins kittens all around Sweden, and their outstanding look and temper. This weeekend I plan to visit Alvarins kittens with S*Wildwood´s Xtreme and Alvarin´s kittens at Mhorrses Cattery.
I have decided something that I knew many weeks ago, it will be S*Poo Nai´s Pattadakal that stays here from the P-itter. In him I find something from Alvarin, both his look and his soul. I can´t let him go. We just have to wait to see his development. So far, he follows the development of Alvarin when I compare him with the old kitten pics of Alvarin. Comparision in real life is a little bit unfair. Alvarin was almost four months when he came to me, and Pattadakal is only eleven weeks yet. But I am really happy for him.

Time flies, and we just have to follow. It feels like yesterday, me sitting with Wirvla giving birth in 24 h. Twelve weeks have passed, and it is time to say goodbye to some of the P-babies. They are leaving next week. I am sad, but also happy about their goodbye since my daughter, two years old, are playing too much with the kittens. She think they are funny toys, but I am of a different opinion. Pattadakal remain here. Poona will move to Gujarat and Imphal. Pappadam will stay with Narmada. Plachimada will live in Saltsjö-Boo and Purana Quila in Stockholm. Jag feel very safe with the new homes of my kittens. You will look after my babies at least as good as I have done. It has been some special weeks. when P-litter was born I felt it was something extraordinary having 11 kittens in the same litter. When Alvarin left us in grief everything changed, we just had to survive, nothing more. Now, when it s done, I am very confused of the amount of kittens in P-litter. I will never understand why Wirvla had so many kittens in her first litter. We will decide later on if she will be mated one more time. Now, she need some rest, and if her coat returns we will take her to shows thia winter. She enjoys it! And we who are the breeders of all this kittens, will take a break too, no more kittens before Spring2006. |
